cyclical traces
Cyclical Traces Seth Nehil Digital release · February 2022 EP
Five pieces composed over five days in May–June 2021 — created to accompany Philip Krohn's AuxArt I installation, later remixed to stereo. Field recordings, detuned piano, modular and software synths, and found objects, recorded and layered as long improvisational takes.
A sonic diary capturing a particular moment in time — its weather, insects, and birds. Accepting of accidents, embracing small gestures, embedding accretions of time. Lightly edited into loose forms, the five sections wander slowly across a landscape, occasionally stumbling across a surprising shape.
