Bill Will - Fun House

multichannel sound installation

A four-channel generative sound installation joined Bill Will's exhibition of kinetic sculptures. An extensive library of sound events — all derived from a single snare drum hit, ranging from quiet buzzing and drones to rumbles and pops — randomly triggered and dynamically spatialized throughout the gallery in ever-changing combinations. Events ranged in length from a few seconds to several minutes, with sudden bursts emerging from silences.

As visitors activated the noisy sculptures, the installation provided a parallel sonic environment — two generative systems in unplanned dialogue.
