Hopscotch Gallery Portland – Chromesthesia
sound design
Three doorways with two-way mirrors open to three rooms saturated with color and sound. A generative installation of rich harmonic tones layered with field recordings of wind, ice, and birds. As visitors open and close doors, moving between spaces, different strata of the composition are revealed — the work changes with each threshold crossed. Chords pulse in shifting patterns; unfiltered color pushes against the eyes.
(Chromesthesia — the phenomenon of sound-induced color perception.)
